Rose
Hi Guys,

I am looking for some help here. I stay in USA and will be visiting India, New Delhi in mid May for about a month. I am very really keen to travel around Himachal Pradesh. But given that I do not have any idea of Himachal tourism like good places to visit etc, I seek your help. So would be grateful if you guys could me help me with this. Places to visit, how to get there, distance from Delhi, accommodation, local transport etc…

My sincere thanks in advance for this so valuable help to me.

Much success,

Rose

Places of tourist interest in Himachal are placed at different locations. While you can consider the offer of Vikra, you should visit the link given by Rajat.

The places are Shimla, Dalhousie, Dharamshala, Manali, etc.
You can also think about Solan.

Hey guys,

Heartfelt thanks to all of you for the help. I will be based in Delhi but will be visiting Himachal for tourism intention. I have heard that Shimla will be crammed full during the time of year I have chosen for vacation and I am really looking for some serene holidays. So, Shimla is out of the list. The link provided by Rajat is good and contains valuable information. Right now I am thinking of two options unless one of you suggests me something else. These options are Chamba-Dalhausie or Kullu Manali. Have any of you been to these places before? If yes, feedback is warmly welcomed. One more concern, as I am not so comfortable with the Bus journey, and according to my understanding Kullu is connected well by train, is Chamba also connected via rail track?
I will be also emailing to all those, who so kindly have provided me with the email addresses. Venkat, will be hitting your mail box too once the plan is (almost) set.
As always much thanks for your help.

Much success.

Hi Rose

Kullu is not connected by train. You can go by air. Air Deccan and Jagson fly to Kullu. Since you will be paying in USD Jagson would take care of you.

Chamba and Dalhousie are wonderful places. You have to visit and see it yourself. None can really describe or give you info on these places.

HI Rose,

Kullu is not connected by train.
However you can take a train to Kangra valley, from Pathankot to Palampur near Chamba.
It is one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world!!
It is called the Kangra Queen and seats are limited.
SO i suggest u make your bookings fast.
