Ernie Martin | | I would like to ride the rails of S. Africa as well as E. Africa. From Cape Town to Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania.
Please no guided tours, just independent travel. I'm not into safari. Stay in hostels or similar accomodations.
Anybody know if there is Tazara line operating from Kapiri Mposhi in Zambia to Dar Es Salaam,Tanzania? I read it's a two night journey and the train has a sleeper class.
Too bad, rails have been disbanded from S. Africa to Zimbabwe. Is it correct?
I do have an older book version of "Southern Africa by Rail" by Paul Ash. There are no new editions.
Cheers,
Ernie
